Notifications & Support

Notification Center

Track every important event on your xCloudPhone account — from expiring rentals and top-up confirmations to security alerts — all in one place.

2 min read

The Notification Center is where you receive every important update from xCloudPhone. Instead of checking each device or transaction manually, the system proactively alerts you when something noteworthy happens.

Where to find it

Click the bell icon in the dashboard header — top-right of the navigation bar. When you have unread notifications, a count badge appears next to the bell; the badge shows a maximum of 99+ and stops incrementing beyond that.

Clicking the bell opens the notification panel as a slide-down dropdown. The panel header shows the total notification count (both read and unread), not just the unread count.

Filtering notifications

The panel has two filter tabs:

  • All — shows every notification.
  • Unread — shows only unread notifications for quick triage.

There are no filters by notification type (Rental, Billing, Security…) — all types appear together under these two tabs.

Marking as read

  • One at a time: click the notification in the list. It switches to read automatically.
  • All at once: hit the "Mark all as read" button at the top. Handy when you return after a few days with dozens piled up.

Viewing notification details

Clicking any notification in the list opens a detail modal right on the page with the full notification content.

Notification types

Depending on account activity, you may receive the following types of notifications:

TypeTypical events
RentalExpiring soon (1-hour warning), expired, renewed successfully
BillingSuccessful top-up, failed transaction
SharingReceived a share invitation, someone opened your share link
SecurityLogin from an unfamiliar device, password or 2FA changed
SystemMaintenance notices, feature announcements

Priority order

Not every notification is urgent. Suggested processing order:

Security — any unfamiliar-login alert deserves immediate attention (see Two-factor authentication).

Rental expiring — renew or back up data within the hour.

Failed transactions — especially right after a top-up that hasn't credited.

System — read when you have time; useful for staying ahead of maintenance windows.

A "Rental expiring soon" notification must be handled as soon as you see it. Once the rental expires, the device is reclaimed and data on it may be permanently lost. Don't wait until the last minute.

When notifications seem to be missing

If you think you're missing an alert:

  • Check the filter tab — you may be on Unread while the notification you're looking for was already read.
  • Check the email address on file — some security alerts are also sent via email.

If you still suspect missing notifications, contact support with the exact time you expected the alert.
