Rental

Rent a device: step by step

A step-by-step walkthrough of renting an Android cloud device on xCloudPhone — from picking a package to opening it for the first time.

3 min read

Once you've picked a package, renting takes three steps and less than a minute. This article walks through each one, plus the edge cases you may hit.

Step 1: Pick a package and duration

On the Rental page (app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/rental), find the package you want and click the price for the duration you need:

  • 1h — rent for one hour.
  • 1d — rent for one day.
  • 7d — rent for seven days.
  • 1 month — rent for thirty days.

This choice also determines how the system kicks off pricing. You can still adjust the hours in the next step, but the initial price tier is based on the duration you just tapped.

Step 2: Configure inside the dialog

Clicking a price opens the Rental configuration dialog. This is where you fine-tune every parameter before confirming.

Quantity

Defaults to 1. Bump it up if you want to rent several devices with the same spec at once — the price scales proportionally.

Hours

Two Days and Hours inputs (with + / − buttons) let you enter the exact duration you need. Enter any combination of days and hours — the system converts to total hours and picks the best price tier automatically (see Pricing explained). Quick-select buttons are also available: 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, 1 month.

Payment method

The dialog asks where to charge the rental:

  • Balance — debit your wallet (VND or USD).
  • Promo Hours — use free promotional hours (only shown if the package supports it and your account has Promo Hours).

Voucher code

Type your voucher code into the Voucher field. The input auto-uppercases and validates automatically once you've typed all 32 characters — no Apply button needed. If the code is valid, the discount appears in the summary immediately.

"Only rent devices when the required quantity is available" tick

This checkbox is ticked by default — meaning the system only processes the order when stock has exactly the quantity you requested. If you ask for 10 devices but only 7 are available, the order is cancelled.

Untick this option to switch to flexible mode: the system will rent whatever is in stock (7 devices) instead of cancelling the entire order.

Accept the terms

At the bottom of the dialog are the terms of service. On desktop, you must scroll all the way through before the checkbox becomes enabled. On mobile, just tick it.

Once a rental succeeds, there are no refunds, even if you don't use the device. Read the terms and double-check your hours before confirming.

Step 3: Confirm the rental

Click Confirm rental at the bottom of the dialog. The system processes the request and returns one of these outcomes:

Success

A new modal pops up confirming the rental, with a Go to My Devices button. Click it to land on app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/devices, where your new device will be in the list.

Insufficient balance

If your wallet can't cover the cost, the modal will tell you and offer a Top up button. Tap it to open the top-up page, then come back and finish the rental.

Out of stock

If the package is sold out (and you didn't tick "accept partial fulfillment"), an error message appears. Try another package or check back later.

After renting: open the device for the first time

Visit app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/devices to see your fleet. Each device has a thumbnail and an Open viewer button — click it to start controlling the Android cloud device right in your browser.

Renting 30 days at a time is far cheaper than renting hour by hour and extending repeatedly. If you expect to use the device for more than 720 hours in a month, go straight for the 30-day tier.
