Viewer actions menu
How to use the Actions list in the viewer — clipboard, change device info, install APK, import/export files, proxy, screenshot, and factory reset.
4 min read
Below the primary controls and the search box, the viewer has an Actions list with the advanced tasks you can run on the cloud phone. Each entry is a button row with its own icon; the order in the panel is fixed by the source code. Type into the search box above to filter the list — the search is fuzzy and diacritics-aware, so typing "get clip" still matches "Get clipboard".
Clipboard
The three clipboard rows sit at the top of the Actions list, in this exact order.
Get clipboard
Reads the cloud phone's current clipboard and copies it to your computer's clipboard. The toast "Copied device clipboard" appears once it is done. You can also press Ctrl/Cmd + C while the video area is focused instead of clicking the button.
Paste
Reads your computer's clipboard (via navigator.clipboard.readText) and pushes it directly into the focused field on the cloud phone. If the browser prompts for clipboard permission, accept it the first time. Equivalent to pressing Ctrl/Cmd + V while the video area is focused.
Paste custom data
Opens the Paste Custom Data dialog with two tabs: Text and Image. The Text tab has a textarea — type or paste your content, then click Paste (or press ⌘↵ / Ctrl+Enter) to send exactly that string to the cloud phone, bypassing the system clipboard. Click Cancel to close and discard what you typed.
The Image tab currently shows "Image paste — coming soon" and is not yet available. Use the Text tab in the meantime.
Change device info
Change Info Device
Opens an amber warning modal titled Change Device Info with the message "Changing device info will reboot the device. All ongoing actions will be interrupted. Continue?". Click Change & Reboot to confirm or Cancel to back out. The toast "Changing device info..." appears after confirmation.
This action rotates the cloud phone's virtual hardware identifiers (IMEI, model, related fields) and then reboots — handy when you need a fresh fingerprint without ending the current rental session.
This action reboots the cloud phone. Save your work before confirming.
Apps and files
The four entries below are rows with a > chevron at the right: clicking the row directly runs the action against the default source (your computer), while hovering opens a side context menu so you can pick Upload local file or Select file from cloud before running it.
Install APK
- Upload local file — opens a file picker on your computer, uploads the APK, and automatically installs it on the cloud phone.
- Select file from cloud — opens the picker scoped to your xCloudPhone Files Manager so you can install the APK directly from cloud storage.
Import file
- Upload local file — uploads any file (photo, video, document, etc.) from your computer into the cloud phone's storage.
- Select file from cloud — transfers a file from your Files Manager directly into the cloud phone, no local download required.
To push content in bulk across many phones, upload everything to Files Manager first, then run Import file → Select file from cloud on each viewer. Combine with Sync Control to run it on several phones at once.
Export file
Under development. This row is permanently disabled (greyed out) in the current build.
Proxy
The two proxy rows only matter when the rental session already has a proxy assigned. You assign a proxy from My Devices, not from inside the viewer.
Connect proxy
Connects the cloud phone to the proxy assigned to this rental session. If the session has no proxy yet, assign one from My Devices before clicking this button.
Disconnect proxy
Disconnects the proxy currently in use on the cloud phone. After disconnecting, the phone falls back to the server's default IP.
Screenshot
Screenshot
Captures the cloud phone's current screen and saves it to your cloud. Use it to record screen state for reports, verify campaign results, or keep evidence.
Factory reset
The Factory reset row sits on its own at the bottom of the panel, separated by a dashed red divider to flag that it is a destructive action.
Factory reset
Opens a red destructive modal titled Factory Reset with the message "Are you sure you want to factory reset this device? This action cannot be undone and all data will be lost.". Click Reset Device to confirm or Cancel to back out. After confirmation, the viewer shows the toast "Factory resetting device..." and the cloud phone reboots back to its factory state.
This cannot be undone. All installed apps, logged-in accounts, and files on the cloud phone are permanently deleted. Only use this when you are sure you want a completely clean slate.
