Share Sessions
Invite teammates to your Cloud Phone by username
How to share an xCloudPhone rental with someone by their username, pick View or Control permission, and manage or revoke access at any time.

You are renting one (or several) Cloud Phones on xCloudPhone and want your teammates to use them too. Share Sessions lets you grant access to anyone with an xCloudPhone account using just their username — no password sharing, and you can revoke access at any time.
When to use it
- Team collaboration — multiple people on the same project share one phone.
- Remote help — ask a colleague to log in and check something while you are away.
- Shift coverage — different operators take turns on the same phone.
- Training — a trainer shares a phone live with their students.
If the person you want to share with does not have an xCloudPhone account, see Share a phone with a public link instead.
How to invite by username
Open Share Sessions — Sign in and go to Dashboard → Share Sessions (app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/share-sessions).
Click "Invite by username" — Find the Invite by username button at the top right. A dialog opens.
Enter usernames — Type the xCloudPhone username of each person you want to invite. You can add up to 10 usernames in a single invitation — each appears as a chip so you can review before sending.
Pick the phones to share — Tick the phones from your rental list. You can select up to 20 phones per invitation. Every invited user receives all selected phones with the same permission.
Pick the permission level — View (see the screen only, no interaction) or Control (see and interact like the phone owner).
Click Send — The system processes immediately and shows a per-username result. Access is granted instantly — the recipient does not need to accept an invitation.
Granting Control means the invitee can operate the phone directly — including signing into installed apps, reading messages, or installing new ones. Only give Control to people you actually trust.
Result statuses after sending
After clicking Send, the system shows a result for each username:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Success | Access granted; the user can open the viewer right away |
| User not found | Username does not exist in the system |
| Already shared | This username already has access to that phone |
| Cannot invite yourself | Your own username is in the list |
Managing access
The Share Sessions page lists every active share — who has access to which phone, and at what permission level.
From there you can:
- Change permission between View and Control at any time.
- Revoke access — their open session ends immediately and the phone disappears from their list.
Tips
- For real team work, Control plus clear rules of engagement (who does what) prevents people from stepping on each other.
- For customer demos, View is usually enough and a lot safer.
- Audit the Share Sessions page regularly and revoke access for anyone who no longer needs it.
