Extend a rental
Extending a rental keeps your data, accounts, and installed apps intact — it's cheaper and easier than renting a fresh device.

When your Android cloud device is about to expire, you have two options: rent a new device or extend the current one. This article explains why extending is usually the better choice and walks through the steps.
Why extend instead of renting new?
Extending has two big advantages:
1. Same device — no data loss
When you extend, your virtual device stays exactly as it was:
- The storage and file system are preserved.
- Logged-in accounts (Google, Facebook, games...) stay logged in.
- Installed apps and their settings remain.
- History, photos, downloaded files — all still there.
Renting a new device means starting from scratch — reinstall every app, sign in to every account, redo the entire setup. For account farmers and marketers running many profiles, that's a huge difference.
2. Pricing is usually better
Extensions use the same tiered pricing rule (see Pricing explained). If you extend by 30 days, you're billed at the monthly rate — much cheaper than stacking hours one at a time.
How to extend
Go to the device list — Open app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/devices to see all your active rentals. Each device shows its package name, remaining time, and status.
Pick the device(s) to extend — Tick one or several devices you want to extend. Batch selection is supported, so you can extend 5-10 devices at once if needed.
Click "Extend" — The Extend button appears in the action bar once at least one device is selected. Click it to open the extension configuration dialog.
Configure duration and payment — The extend dialog is very similar to the rent dialog: Additional hours sets how many extra hours to add (the system still picks the best tier: ≥720 → 30-day rate, ≥168 → 7-day, etc.); Payment method is Balance or Promo Hours (if the package supports it); Voucher code applies a valid discount code.
Confirm — Click Confirm to finalize. The remaining time on the device is added by exactly the hours you chose. You don't need to restart the device — the change is instant.
If you have multiple devices on the same package all expiring around the same time, select them together and extend in one go — faster and harder to forget one.
Can't extend? Check two things
Sometimes the Extend button is greyed out or hidden. The usual reasons:
The package doesn't support extension
Some packages — especially special-promo packages, trial packages, or limited-edition ones — don't allow extension. Look for the Extendable badge on the device card or on the original package page.
If the package doesn't support extension, you can only rent a new device when the current one expires; there's no way to preserve the old one.
The device has already expired
Once a device expires, its data is wiped and cannot be recovered. At that point extension no longer applies — you have to rent a new device.
Once a device expires and is wiped, the data is gone forever. Logged-in accounts, installed apps, photos, files — all permanently lost. Watch your expiry dates and extend before the timer hits zero.
Tips for tracking expiry
- Visit
app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/devicesregularly — every card shows remaining time. - Turn on notifications (if the system supports them) to get reminders 24-72 hours in advance.
- For mission-critical devices (those with your main accounts), extend in big chunks (30 days) so you don't have to worry.
Extend a few hours early just to be safe. Don't wait until the last minute — if the network glitches or payment fails, you could lose the device unexpectedly.
Summary
Extending is cheaper and safer than renting a new device every cycle. Just:
- Go to
app.xcloudphone.com/dashboard/devices. - Tick the devices.
- Click Extend → configure → confirm.
And your device keeps running, with all data intact.
